That means ALL the Spooky Things!!
Now I’m a Halloween Freak – just ask my Twitter account – there are jack-o-lanterns surrounding my name there (you can reach me @SpookyBookshelf on Twitter if you like). So a Spooky TBR is right up my alley. And first on the list? Serpent & Dove by Shelby Mahurin.
One of the reasons I’m reading this (as we speak), is because it is Barnes & Noble’s October YA Book Club pick. The other reason? Well, it’s about witches! What could be more perfect for a spooky TBR than witches? Not a whole lot if you ask me.
Next on my list, and another book I’m actually currently reading, is Night Film by Marisha Pessl.
This particular book was suggested by Katie over at Katesbookdate on YouTube. The book intrigued me, so I decided to check it out. Lucky for me, my library had it via the Libby app and it was available for immediate download. This one is a thriller but it’s plenty creepy to be honest.
Next, and again, I’m reading this one right now (because I read a LOT of books at once for some reason), is Sometimes I Lie by Alice Feeney.
Another book suggested by Katie from Katesbookdate on YouTube, I tried to listen to this one on audiobook a couple months ago and just hated it. I’m actually further into the book now by reading it through the Libby app and I have to say I’m enjoying it more this time. I’m very interested to see what the twist at the end is.
The last book I’m planning to try to read/finish this month is One Dark Throne by Kendare Blake.
I read Three Dark Crowns last month and I loved it so much! I gave Three Dark Crowns 5 out of 5 stars on Goodreads because it was just such an awesome read. I love the world of Fennbirn Island. I love the magic system – how everyone has some type of magic – and I loved the way the queens are crowned. This one is taking me longer to read, not because I don’t love it, but because a few things have gotten in my way the past couple of weeks.
So there you have it! My Spooky TBR. What’s on your Spooky TBR??
